Week listings and previews for our Korean Players Abroad February 27-28

europa league

Week listings and previews for our Korean Players Abroad. Europa League was on this week, unfortunately Park Joo-Ho’s Borussia Dortmund and Son Heung-Min’s Tottenham Hotspur’s were the only ones with our KFA’s to make it to the round of 16. Ji Dong-Won, Hong Jeong-Ho, Koo Ja-Cheol’s Augsburg and Suk Hyun-Jun’s Porto were knocked out. Good job to all fours teams though, as they put up a great fight. Two Korean derbies are on this week, Son Heung-Min’s Tottenham Hotspur’s vs Ki Sung-Yueng’s Swansea City and Park Joo-Ho’s Borussia Dortmund vs Kim Jin-Su’s Hoffenheim. But the match to watch this week is definitely Spurs vs Swans. What will you be watching this weekend?

Saturday 12:30 PM Lee Chung-Yong Crystal Palace @West Bromwich
Sunday 9:00 AM Ki Sung-Yueng Swansea City @Tottenham Hotspur
Sunday 9:00 AM Son Heung-Min Tottenham Hotspur Swansea City
Sunday 9:30 AM Hong Jeong-Ho Augsburg Borussia Mönchengladbach
Sunday 9:30 AM Ji Dong-Won Augsburg Borussia Mönchengladbach
Sunday 9:30 AM Koo Ja-Cheol Augsburg Borussia Mönchengladbach
Sunday 11:30 AM Park Joo-Ho Borussia Dortmund Borussia Mönchengladbach
Sunday 11:30 AM Kim Jin-Su Hoffenheim @Borussia Dortmund
Sunday 2:15 PM Suk Hyun-Jun FC Porto @Belenenses

Yun Suk-Young hasn’t been able to start these last couple of weeks at Charlton Athletic, hopefully he starts this week. But I expect him to make bench against Reading.

Lee Chung-Yong has been pretty decent these last couple of weeks, I expect him to either start of be in reserves against West Bromwich.

As Ki Sung-Yueng and Swansea rested last week, I expect Ki to start as he is a vital player. This will be an important match for both teams, as Swans really need a win and Spurs would like to maintain their second place position.

Son Heung-Min wasn’t used in the Europa League today, I think the spurs are saving him for the weekend. I expect Son to start against Swansea City as Harry Kane is out. This will be a tough match for Spurs as they played in the Europa League this week while Swans didn’t play a match last week.

Looks out Hong Jeong-Ho will be out for a couple of weeks, another injury. Get well soon Hong, Augsburg really needs your help.

Koo Ja-Cheol should start on Sunday against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Koo has been looking pretty good at Augsburg. Keep it up Koo.

Ji Dong-Won couldn’t play in the Europa League today as he caught the flu. If he has healed I expect him to start, if not he will be excluded from the squad list this week.

Park Joo-Ho didn’t travel to Porto with Borussia Dortmund this week, his situation isn’t looking good. He has been out of the squad list for the last couple of weeks.

Like Park Joo-Ho, Kim Jin-Su hasn’t been making the squad list these last couple of weeks too. Both players have to really focus and step up their game if they want to stay with the team.

I expect Suk Hyun-Jun to either start or be benched for Porto against Belenenses.
