Son Heung Min — Really struggled to get touches and get involved. When he did get on the ball, decent things happened… except for when he only had the GK to beat and shot well over. With playmaking struggling against a defensive Burnley side, Son didn’t have too many chances to shine. With short week, we will see how Poch lines em up, but I think Son gets another run out.
Upcoming fixtures: 1/02 vs Swansea, 1/04 vs West Ham, 1/07 vs AFC Wimbledon (FA Cup). You’d have to think Son starts two of the three EPL ties (including today’s) and Lamela gets the other.
Ki Sung Yueng — A questionable rumor links him to West Ham, but for now he remained out with calf strain. But perhaps with the extra rest, he’ll be good to play but lots of questions on that front.
The rumour increasingly seems to be legit, with Steve Han posting this:
Though I’d have to question whether or not that stat is conflated by Ki backward passing/lateral passing a lot. In any case I doubt he’ll move to West Ham this time unless they offer good money. Ki’s been very committed to Swansea for many years and unless he’s asked to leave he probably won’t jump ship no matter how fast it’s sinking.
Lee Chung Yong — Not in squad so one would have to assume his days as a Crystal Palace player are numbered.
Lee Seung Woo — My stream sucked but he did play some 25 min or so when the match was fully over. It looked like even then that Verona struggled for offense.
Would be a good move for both parties. Hong Jeong-ho has been without a club for several months since the CSL changed their rules around foreign players and Jiangsu’s Australian centreback Trent Sainsbury pushed Hong out of the first team and subsequently the club. Jeonbuk could potentially line-up a back four pairing of Kim Jin-su, Kim Min-jae, Hong Jeong-ho and Choi Chul-soon… which honestly, if things fell into place in strange ways… could be the KNT’s entire back four at the World Cup. Chemistry problems: fixed?
