Brazil has announced their squad for their October friendlies, which of course includes their trip to Seoul. Some were concerned that Brazil would leave their big names at home (or their clubs), and while not all of Brazil’s A-listers will make the trip plenty of talent will.
Brazil Squad:
Goalkeepers: Jefferson, Victor, Diego Cavalieri
Defenders: Dani Alves, Maicon, David Luiz, Marcelo, Dede, Dante, Henrique, Maxwell
Midfielders: Ramires, Lucas Moura, Oscar, Paulinho, Luis Gustavo, Lucas Leiva, Hernanes, Bernard
Forwards: Neymar, Hulk, Alexandre Pato, Jo
Of course, the biggest name in the squad is Neymar. But plenty of other attacking talent made the trip, including the oft-injured Pato, PSG starlet Lucas Moura, Chelsea’s Oscar, and emerging talent Bernard. Even the defense is fairly attack-minded with fullbacks Dani Alves, Marcelo, and Maicon making the trip, as well as Chelsea’s David Luiz. Then we can talk about the solid players like Hernanes, Luis Gustavo, Paulinho, and Ramires.
Certainly it will be an incredibly difficult match for Korea, and an excellent test for our chances against top sides next summer.
Hong Myeong-Bo is expected to announce his call ups for the matches sometime next week.
Good game Brazil. If Korea scores it is definite a Man-sae! moment.
Yes! Hopefully Korea can get their game on and make up from the mistakes in the Croatia match. Japan lost to Brazil 0-3 in Confederations Cup so I hope Korea gets a better score.
Best of luck 😉
I was in Korea to watch them play against QATAR and CHINA. WHY CAN’T I BE THERE NOW?!?!
Soooo jealous that I’m not gonna be there in October. I’d love to watch some of those Brazilians play. Many say they have a top shot at winning the World Cup.
HMB better call up PCY. I’ve seen enough K-League strikers to know that an out-of-form PCY would be a better option at top.
Hong, or sources within his camp, have said that he won’t call up Park for the October friendlies. He’s supposedly waiting until Park is fully fit and ready to go, which I’m assuming means that he’s waiting until Park plays for Arsenal or someone else regularly. Article can be read here.
:'( Does that mean… no Ki!?!?!
Hong said Ki wasn’t ready yet, and I think, that he wasn’t going to call him. I wonder if Ki is still in the doghouse a bit for his Choi KH comments.
Hmm. Seems like Hong is going to give Ki a go after all.
Well I guess according to that logic Yoon Suk Young won’t be called up either.
Probably won’t. And he shouldn’t. Was piss poor against Croatia.
