While we get out the weekend listing in Europe and Korea, we are in utter shock here at the Tavern concerning the tragedy unfolding in the ferry sinking disaster. It’s very heavy and we want to send our thoughts for the families who are waiting the final word on their missing son or daughter at this moment.

And over at Tavern Studio Canada, I too express my condolences to the families of the dead and missing. Just a heart-wrenching tragedy and my thoughts go out to those affected.
I found myself torn up about this ferry incident to the point of tears. I actually lost my cookie this morning when I learned it completely submerged. Just kids. This one hurts really bad.
Heard that Ki is out with injury. Another one? Maybe getting hurt now is better than right before WC
What are your guys thoughts on Ki’s impact in the EPL so far?
Ill give it a big fat 5/10
I miss Ji Sung Park bad. None of our ‘kids’ have Park’s mental strength to weather this league and that to me is proving to be difference maker in success. Granted PJS is a bit of freak of nature when it comes to this regard. He was simply awesome.
Ill never forget Park’s last Chelsea match. That was stunning.
If it’s just the EPL, I would agree with your score. If combined with the league cup, I would give him a 7/10 or a 7.5/10.
Ki? I think he’s made a huge impact at Sunderland and he has had some fantastic games. I’d score it an 8 at the Black Cats alone.
At Swansea… eh.
He did have huge impact. They’re getting relegated for certain.
I don’t think you should be pessimistic yet. If Liverpool beats Norwich, survival will be at Sunderland’s hands depending on how the team does the next few games and especially since Sunderland still a game behind.
You’re right bro. I am getting even more cynical to the point of pessimism. Even though Ive been happy with a couple of games this 2nd half of the season, its just a pattern of his to go south like this and while I don’t blame him for Sunderland’s failures by a long shot, he just seems to be playing at their level more and more. I think I just have too high of expectations of him because I really thought he’d be having the impact of maybe Gerrard.
As I brought up earlier, Park JS set the high bar on mental strength. One that none of our current players seem to come close to matching up with.
End of whining.
Although I admit his form has declined recently, I think he had a really good first pair of months at Sunderland
Late, but yes all domestic matches are still being held. Clubs and fans though have agreed to not have loud chanting/singing out of respect. Attendance was sparse yesterday and will likely be pretty small today as well.
Isn’t the Ansan-Goyang game being postponed?
